About
St.Thomas School - Loni

The St. Thomas group of Schools had its humble beginning in 1986 at Sahibabad in the premises of St. Thomas Orthodox Church. By the immeasurable grace of the Almighty, the St.Thomas Church Society could edify another temple of learning at Indirapuram as the extension of its education venture.
The president of the Society is His Holiness Baselios Mar Thomas Paulose -II, the Catholicos of the East, and the Vice President is His Grace Dr. Youhanon Mar Demetrios, the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Delhi. The overall administration of the school is vested in the Governing Board (an elected body constituted by the Society).
St. Thomas School, Loni is an upcoming Senior Secondary School. The Society had proven its principles in empowering the people through education, by successfully running two schools. Now, to extend its educational venture for the benefit of the villagers in Loni, by the Grace of the Almighty, we could start functioning the primary wing in April 2018 and the school has admitted students till grade VII in the current Academic year. The construction of the senior wing is in full swing, which is expected to be completed in a span of two years. The school is recognised and it focusses on the overall development of the child, with an emphasis on inculcating human values. All efforts are put in to discover and nurture the latent talents in each child to help him enjoy his childhood.

STORY READING DURING SUMMER HOLIDAYS

25-05-2019

For Class VI

It is always fun to read short and interesting stories. Moreover if they give us something to learn in the end it becomes all the more better. Read the following story in your summer break. An activity based on this will be there in the month of July.

The Four Sons

There lived an old man in a village. He had four sons. In spite of all his efforts, the old man could not make his sons earn for their living. In addition, they were always fighting among themselves.
The old man thought of a plan. He called his sons and said, “Look my dear sons, in the barren land we have at the farmyard, there is a hidden treasure. If you should work together, you may find it."
In a wish to find the treasure the four sons worked hard by digging and digging all through the land. They got frustrated and returned to their father.
“There is no treasure in the land. They complained to their father.
“Now that you have softened the land. Why should not you cultivate it?" was the reply of their father to their query.
Off went the sons. Soon the whole barren land was rich crops.
“This is the real treasure my sons" said the now proud father. The quarrelling sons then on lived in harmony and became rich soon.

Moral: Hard-work is always fruitful.

STORY READING DURING SUMMER HOLIDAYS

25-05-2019

For Class V

It is always fun to read short and interesting stories. Moreover if they give us something to learn in the end it becomes all the more better. Read the following story in your summer break. An activity based on this will be there in the month of July.

                                                Help Yourself

Once, two mice entered a dairy. As they were looking for something to eat, they slipped and fell into a large-drum full of milk. They did not know how to swim. Soon they started drowning.

Both of them started struggling to stay afloat. One of the mice said, "Friend, I think we are going to drown. No one can help us now. I wish God would send someone to help us!"

The other mouse calmly said, "Do not be afraid my friend. We must not lose heart. We must keep trying."

But a few minutes later, the first mouse gave up hope. He did not try and so he drowned. The other mouse saw his friend drowning in the milk and felt very sorry.

He kept moving his legs to try to keep afloat. Soon this had a churning effect and a thick layer of cream fat was formed on the milk's surface.

With great effort, the mouse climbed the creamy layer and jumped out to safety. The mouse realized that God helps those who help themselves.

Moral: God help those who helps themselves.

STORY READING DURING SUMMER HOLIDAYS

25-05-2019

For Class IV

It is always fun to read short and interesting stories. Moreover if they give us something to learn in the end it becomes all the more better. Read the following story in your summer break. An activity based on this will be there in the month of July.

 The Truthful Woodcutter.

One day a wood cutter's axe accidentally fell into a river. The poor wood cutter made a good search in the water.
But his efforts were in vain. Finally he burst into tears. Hearing his sobs, an Angel appeared before him.
The Angel dived into the river and came up carrying a golden axe. The wood cutter did not accept it. He stated that his axe was made of iron.
The Angel disappeared and soon returned with a silver axe. The wood cutter again denied that it was his axe.
The Angel once again plunged into the river. It soon reappeared carrying the axe of the wood cutter. The poor man greeted the angel with words of profuse thanks and great joy.
The Angel was impressed by the man's honesty.
She presented him with the golden and silver axes in recognition of his truthful nature.

Moral: Truthfulness brings its own reward.

STORY READING DURING SUMMER HOLIDAYS

25-05-2019

For Class III

It is always fun to read short and interesting stories. Moreover if they give us something to learn in the end it becomes all the more better. Read the following story in your summer break. An activity based on this will be there in the month of July.

The Cap-Seller and the Monkeys

Once, there was a cap-seller in a town. On one fine day, he was selling caps.
“Caps, caps, caps….Five rupees caps, ten rupees caps….”
After he made few sales of caps, he became very tired. He decided to sit under a big tree to take rest for a while. Soon, he slept off.
There were many monkeys on the big tree. They saw the cap-seller was sleeping under the tree. The monkeys were sitting on the top of the tree.
The monkeys came down, took the caps from the cap-seller-bag and wore them. Then they climbed the tree again.
When the cap seller woke up, he was shocked to see his basket empty. He searched for his caps.
To his surprise, he saw the monkeys were wearing them. He found that monkeys were imitating him. So, he started throwing his cap down and the monkeys also did so.
The cap-seller collected all the caps, put them back in his basket and went away happily

Moral of the Story: Wisdom is better than weapons of war.
